Inspired by water
A competitive swimmer in his youth and now a big wave surfer, Yves Behar has always felt a deep connection with water. The poetic effect of its movement in nature is recreated inside VOLTA.
Reinvented bowl
The experience of water in the natural world – where it flows quickly at times and slowly at others – informs the architecture of VOLTA. The desire to set water in motion inspired the new vortex form that sees the water circulate before it disappears.
Reduced water use
Water consumption is reduced through VOLTA’s ramp design, allowing a shallow pool to form for washing and shaving when the waste is closed. The circular flow of the water additionally cleans the ceramic, minimising cleaning frequency.
CO2-free production
VOLTA epitomises LAUFEN’s continuous search for solutions that minimise CO2 emissions in our manufacturing plants.
